It’s always welcome when you have a nice customer come through your checkout. There have been a few that have really stuck out over my time at Superstore, but one woman today gave me a compliment that absolutely made my day. I get a lot of compliments on my bagging. I love getting them. I try to do a good job and it’s nice that they notice this. Everyone seems impressed with what I’m able to fit in those reusable bags. Some people even compliment me on my name. They then get confused when I tell them that I wasn’t born on Christmas or even in December. Today, however, a woman came through my checkout and said, “You know, you are one of the nicest cashiers I’ve seen here in a long time.”
She didn’t have to say that. She could have just said thank you and went on her way, but she made a point to say this to me. Maybe Joe Howe needs some better employees because I didn’t even do anything special, I was how I am with every customer. If that makes me one of the nicest, it makes me wonder what the rest of the cashiers are like. I really hope this woman comes back through my checkout, even though I wouldn’t even know it’s her.
This woman reminded me that little compliments and words of encouragement like this can go a long way and can mean a lot. I think we forget this. So why not tell them the next time someone does something for you that you really appreciate. They’ll appreciate you and you might just make their day.
Great to hear and I’ll try to remember to do the same next time I’m shopping.
